  History of C language

The C programming language was developed at AT & T's Bell Laboratories of USA in 1972. It was designed and written by a man named Dennis Ritchie. In the late seventies C began to replace the more familier languages of that time like PL/I, ALGOL etc.

Rules for writing C program:

  1. Blank spaces can be inserted between two words. However, blank spaces are not allowed between a single word.
  2. Usually all C statements are entered in small case letters.
  3. The different part of C statements can be split over multiple lines.
  4. Any C statement always ends with a semicolon ( ; ).
The C Character Set
             
          A character denotes any alphabet, digit or special symbol used to represent information. Following  shows the valid alphabets, numbers and special symbols allowed in C:

  1. Alphabets : A,B,C,D,...........,Y,Z   a,b,c,..........,y,z
  2. Digits: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
  3. Special symbols: &©, @  +, = , ?, ', ", *, (, ) / etc,
Data Types:
 Data is possibly one word which has been used with gay abandon by programmers. It is almost impossible for a programmer to talk for two minutes about computing without saying data in one context or the other. There are data types, data objects, data flow , data bases.

Introduction:

     Java ias a simple and yet powerful object oriented programming language and it is in many respects similar to C++.

Java is created by James Gosling from Sun Microsystems(Sun) in 1991. The first publicly available version of java (java1.0) was released in 1995.

Java is defined as a specification and consists of a programming language, a compiler , core libraries and a runtime machine (-Java virtual machine)

Ad Preferences:

In sections from "your interests "to "your information" and the "ad settings ," users can adjust which types of ads they see--and, by hovering over an advertiser logo, they can remove that company.

Clicking "remove " on one of those advertisers merely hides their ads -it doesn't remove a user from the contact list that initilly generated theconnection via Facebook.

Her, users can tailor who can see their profile , photos and posts. Based on privacy settings, Facebook also allows users to control what gets posted to their timeline ---- and to see when they look at their profile by using the "View As"tool.

Tiangong-1 is now predicted to land on earth till 7:30pm et.


Forecasts from the European Space Agency’s Space Debris Office and the US-based Aerospace Corp. predict that China’s falling space station, the Tiangong-1, will most likely plummet to Earth on Sunday night at around 730pm ET.
The craft was originally thought likely to crash as early as Saturday . Per Space.com, estimates of the doomed station’s final re-entry time still vary considerably, but ESA officials have now pushed back their prior assessment of Tiangong-1 after observed solar phenomena failed to speed up its rate of descent. Here’s how they described their findings in a blog post :
A high-speed stream of particles from the Sun, which was expected to reach Earth and influence our planet’s geomagnetic field, did, in fact, not have any effect, and calmer space weather around Earth and its atmosphere is now expected in the coming days.
This means that the density of the upper atmosphere, through which Tiangong-1 is moving, did not increase as predicted (which would have dragged the spacecraft down sooner) and hence the ESA Space Debris Office has adjusted the predicted decay rate.
 Though the Aerospace Corp. estimate tracks with the ESA’s, both groups set a wide window surrounding the 7:30pm ET target—with Aerospace Corp. predicting it could happen up to seven hours off the estimate in either direction, per Space.com.
The falling station has attracted no shortage of alarm, but the risk of it hitting a populated area, let alone any actual humans, remains infinitesimal. As fellow Gizmodo writer Ryan F. Mandelbaum noted on Thursday, Taigong-1 is relatively small by space debris standards at 18,750 pounds, while craft as large as the 152,000 pound Skylab have made uncontrolled descents into the Earth’s atmosphere with little problem and no reported fatalities.

 In fact, there are no confirmed deaths from human space debris—and given the Earth’s huge surface area, Aerospace Corp. estimates the odds of any individual being injured by space debris is somewhere around one in a trillion. Per Space.com, Harvard University astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell predicts only 220-440 lbs of Tiangong-1 will make it back to the ground or seas, and the biggest risk from that remnant is likely that someone could discover the debris and contaminate themselves with hydrazine, an exceptionally toxic rocket fuel.
That means that the most likely effect for anyone near the crash site is actually a fantastic view. Per the Guardian, ESA Space Debris Office chief Holger Krag says that when Tiangong-1 dips below around 62 miles altitude, “Within minutes it will be fully decelerated and the energy it carries will be translated into heat and aerodynamic forces that rip it apart” in a fallout zone that could stretch over 600 miles.
“If you’re in the right place at the right time, and the sky is clear, it will be quite spectacular,” Krag added. “It will be visible to the naked eye, even in daylight, and look like a slow-moving shooting star that splits into a few more shooting stars. You might even see a smoke trail.”

Why sit around waiting for a new Left for Dead game that will probably never come to fruition when you can play Warhammer: Vermintide 2? If you enjoy fast-paced, visceral co-op monster slaying, then look no further. This first-person hack-and-slash game is dark, bloody, hard-hitting, and most of all, a damn good time. There is just something about coming home from a long days work and relieving some stress by conquering hordes after hordes of Chaos and Skaven fodder.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly too. Prepare for neverending waves and challenging bosses across a plethora of different levels and difficulty settings. The game offers a bunch of different gameplay customization options as well. There are five different personable heroes to choose from, each with very different playstyles and three talent trees to further your gameplay customization. My favorite part of the Warhammer high fantasy universe is how it mixes your typical medieval style axes and crossbows with technological weapons like flamethrowers and miniguns. There are plenty of ways to kill hordes of rats in Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and they are all a blast.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is currently only available on PC but is expected to come to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

Pit People originally released in Early Access back in early 2017, but Behemoth’s latest wacky adventure has officially released. Similar to BattleBlock Theater and Castle CrashersPit People is filled to the brim with cheesy comedy and a zany, cartoony art style. Want to fight against robots and vampires in a toilet? Pit People went there. It’s a wacky, meme-filled game that is hilarious fun both alone, cooperatively, or in the game’s arena PvP battle mode onlinin 2018
While the comedy of the game is a definite draw, Pit People has a solid backbone in its turn-based tactical gameplay. The mechanics really focus on strategic character positioning, and while not anything mechanically groundbreaking, the game does a great job balancing difficulty with easy to understand mechanics. Compared to other games in the genre, it’s relatively simple, but it adds just enough combat puzzles to keep things interesting. Just in case cupcake people and space bears weren’t enough to keep you entertained.

Former Engineer Suing Google: 'It Sucks to Be a Woman in Tech'

Loretta Lee, an ex-Google engineer who filed a lawsuit against her former employer last month, posted a blog to her website Unicorn Techie today decrying the state of gender inclusion in software engineering and the tech industry in general. “The reason there are so few women in tech,” she writes, “is because it sucks to be a woman in tech.”
The details of her suit against Google—which include allegations of wrongdoing on the part of both male co-workers and the company’s HR department—are not included in the blog post. Instead, Lee hypothesizes a to why “the number of females [in the tech industry] has been dropping nonstop since the 1980s.”Lee argues that not only are tech companies (and employees) refusing to acknowledge that their unconscious biases towards women exist, but that phony support for the idea of a diverse staff is actively damaging the prospect of hiring more female engineering talent. Worse yet, Lee says that the diversity statistics released by tech companies such as Google to flaunt their inclusive workforces use goosed statistics.
The way these numbers get spun in the favor of companies, Lee alleges, ranged from recategorizing whole teams to excluding certain data.
I remember one year at Google, all of the “UX Designers” were “rebranded” as “UX Engineers”. Shortly thereafter, Google began publicly releasing their “diversity statistics” annually, boasting 20% female engineers just this past year. [...] while reading Google’s diversity report claiming 20% female engineers, you may have noticed in the fine print that these statistics only included some 80% of their employees. APPLE CEO TIM COOK'S SLAM ON FACEBOOK CEO

Apple CEO Tim Cook continued to call for more regulation of Facebookin the wake of a data privacy scandal, suggesting CEO Mark Zuckerberg had failed to protect users.
“I wouldn’t be in this situation”, Mr Cook said after being asked what he would do in Mr Zuckerberg’s position in an excerpt of a forthcoming interview with reporters from Recode and MSNBC.


Technology executives like have joined elected officials and in blasting Facebook for allowing a researcher to pass data covering millions of users to Cambridge Analytica, a consulting firm that worked for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.Breaking with his industry’s usual wariness of regulation, Mr Cook has repeatedly endorsed imposing stricter privacy rules on Facebook.
“I think the best regulation is no regulation, is self-regulation,” Mr Cook said in the interview. “However, I think we’re beyond that here.”
Last weekend, Mr Cook said “some large profound change is needed”, telling attendees at an event in Beijing that “this certain situation is so dire, and has become so large, that probably some well-crafted regulation is necessary”.
Other technology executives have aligned themselves with calls to renounce Facebook use altogether. WhatsApp founder Brian Acton, whose company was acquired by Facebook in 2014, tweeted the hashtag “#DeleteFacebook” along with the phrase “it is time”.
Tesla took down its Facebook pages after Elon Musk told Twitter users that he did not use the site and that his company does not purchase Facebook advertisements, saying the social media platform “gives me the Willies”.
With political pressure ratcheting up, multiple Facebook executives have taken an conciliatory stance to the possibility of more regulation. Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg said in an interview that the company was “open to regulation” and cited Mr Zuckerberg’s belief that “‘it’s not a question of ‘if regulation’, it’s a question of ‘what type’”.“I actually am not sure we shouldn’t be regulated”, Mr Zuckerberg told CNN in his first public interview since the scandal broke.
He said he would “love to see” more transparency around political advertisements and noted that Facebook had committed to releasing more information about paid political posts, a push announced after members of Congress introduced a bill mandating more disclosure.
